Gregory Thomas designed and oversaw the remodeling of my kitchen, the Corvallis Blue Kitchen as seen in his projects. He listened well and understood what I wanted, helping me refine my ideas and blend them with his. His design changed the kitchen without changing the footprint which shortened the job. Work started and was finished on schedule. While things such as under-counter drawers for china storage will allow me to age more gracefully in place, that the new kitchen functions well is topped by the beauty of the space.

We've lived in our home for nearly 30 years, and Gregory has designed three remodeling projects. He possesses a rare combination of artistic sensibilities and a deep understanding of how people inhabit spaces. He is deliberate and thoughtful in his approach to design, and as a result our home has become increasingly more beautiful and, importantly, more livable. My wife and I comment often on how well our home "works" for us. All of Gregory's insightful designs are carefully crafted and in keeping with the style of the original home. One would be hard pressed to discern the features of our current home that were not part of its original design.

As important as his vision and skill as a designer are, Gregory is a joy to work with. His calm and patient approach engenders feelings of trust and collaboration. I cannot imagine a more thoughtful, inventive, and capable designer who is also such a kind and generous person.

We had the privilege of working with Gregory twice in a ten year period. We loved our location, but our 1950s ranch home was too small for our growing family. I contacted Gregory, and he came back with an amazing plan for our new master suite, creating the perfect space despite numerous constraints such as property line spacing restrictions, the presence of a huge majestic live oak and the existing house structure and style. After the third child arrived we once again needed space. I contacted Gregory, and he instantly remembered my house layout and proposed we go up and add on a second story. This was a large undertaking, and everyone told us merely to buy a new house, but we loved our location and knew nothing we looked at compared to our master suite. We truly love our new/old home, and I cannot imagine having gone through this process with any other architect. Gregory listened to the design or aesthetic concerns I had, but — more importantly — he listened to what I needed to live in my home. The lighting, the storage and the flow are perfect for our family. Gregory's professionalism and talent created a home that is tailor made for our needs.
