South Hills Primary Bathroom Remodel

This client was interested in a ‘glam’ remodel of their primary bathroom. Careful details throughout combine to give the completed space a refined air of contemporary luxury and sophistication.
We tore out the existing jacuzzi tub, set the water closet in a separate room, created a large walk-in shower, installed a new vessel tub and new high-gloss cabinets. Porcelain tile flooring with the look of Calacatta marble complements the veined porcelain panels lining the shower. Gold tile in the shower niches matches the unlacquered brass plumbing and lighting fixtures, gold and satin brass hardware and accessories; even the floor mats were selected to carry on the gold veining. Tiles on the sink wall are made of Calacatta marble and brass, and were carefully aligned with the sink faucets, mirrors, sinks and sconces. Thickened countertops are quartz with mitered edges.
Doors were custom-made and detailed to have no casing trim — instead, the tile is trimmed with a thin brass edging. The street-facing windows were replaced with translucent glazing and no casing trim. Radiant heating warms the floor of the seating areas and shower. The sink mirrors conceal medicine cabinets with built-in lighting and integrated electrical outlets.
As a design project, what was most remarkable was that our client came with a distinct vision in mind, with the beautiful sink tile, the porcelain wall panels and some plumbing fixtures already selected. Gregory introduced complementary materials, the high-gloss cabinets, the lighting fixtures and the careful detailing. We closely collaborated with the client through every decision and were pleased with the final product — the whole became more than the sum of the parts.
